Dance Medicine Practicum at Johns Hopkins Hospital
We are pleased to announce that our Clinic Manager, Andrea Zujko will be teaching a newly revised Dance Medicine Practicum at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Please join us starting in August of 2018 down in Baltimore for an exciting and unique collaboration with the number three hospital in the U.S. devoted to medical education, research and clinical care.
About the course:
Dance Medicine Practicum: Clinical Analysis, Assessment & Treatment of the Dancer
This interdisciplinary dance medicine program is focused on the clinical assessment and management of the dancer patient and designed to upgrade the knowledge and practical application in the prevention and rehabilitation of dance injuries. Our Dance Medicine Practicum is divided into 4 two-day modules.
Each module consists of a combination of lecture, demonstration, clinical assessment and hands-on lab experience. Each course is designed to challenge your critical thinking skills, evaluation techniques, manual intervention and development of a dance specific plan of care.

Healthcare practitioners and adjunct healthcare practitioners who already practice in or are interested in the field of dance medicine. This includes: physical therapists, massage therapists, dance teachers, dance educators, Pilates instructors, Gyrotonic instructors, athletic trainers and physicians. The audience is geared toward those with a basic understanding of dance medicine including relevant anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, orthopedic assessment and hands on intervention. This course is not required for physical therapists wishing to take other module courses.
CEU’s will be offered by the states of MD and NY. The approximate number of hours rewarded are 16 CEU hours per course.

Refunds for cancellation of any course greater than two weeks prior to the course start date will be made with the exception of a $100 processing fee. Cancellation of any course less than two weeks before the program are refunded at 50 percent. Requests for cancellations must be submitted via email to the course coordinator.
Continuing Education Credits: will be provided by the State of Maryland
and the State of New York.
