Cross Training for Dancers

Westside Dance Physical Therapy is excited to offer a strength and conditioning program for both male and female dancers ages 15 – 18.  Dancers can take advantage of the many protective benefits of cross training through this series of 5 classes, held once/week.  The class will be taught by one of our Physical Therapists and Strength and Conditioning specialist for NYCB, Dirk Hartog.

Each weekly session will consist of warm up exercises, resistance/weight training, and other agility or plyometric/jump training.  Some of the equipment we may use are the Parasetters, Parasetter Mini’s, and Tye4.  The program is meant to build upon exercises from previous weeks as we are devoted to ensuring dancers learn safe techniques and become educated in the basic principles of cross training.  Dancers who sign up will also get a supplemental handout of exercises to perform at home each week.

Our goals for this program  is to

  • Enhance fitness level
  • Build movement skill/repertoire/motor control
  • Protect and reduce the risk of injury
  • Empower the individual to build life long habits for healthy careers as a dancers
  • HAVE FUN!

DAY/TIME: Thursdays at 6:30 – 7:30

WHO: Maximum participants: 5, Dancers Aged 15 -18 years old

PRICE: $200 Sign up for 5 classes; Fee to be paid in full on sign up.
**A $150 refund is available if cancellation is before May 15th**
